Q. What led you to Archelis?
Our company manufactures rubber parts for various industries, mainly automobiles.
The basic process in the factory revolves around one worker operating two or three industrial presses at the same time, walking between them. However, for certain products you only use one machine on a short cycle, and you end up standing in place for a long time. I wanted something to help with the strain that causes.
I tried a bunch of things – custom insoles, new shoes, but nothing seemed to work. Then I discovered Archelis.
Q. What’s changed since you started using Archelis?
I definitely feel the reduced fatigue on my body. My legs don’t get stiff from standing in place anymore. Plus, I would have random aches and pains after work before – those have all but disappeared.
Q. Couldn’t you use a chair instead?
It’s just a lot easier to do the work standing. It’s faster, and the height of the machine means it’s awkward to sit down while working. It’s a hazard to have a chair right next to the press, so you have to put it a little bit away from the machine. For every work cycle you’d be sitting, then standing, then sitting on a loop for hours. I think it’d be even more tiring than just standing.
Q. What kind of work would you say Archelis is suited for?
I’d say any kind of work where you stand in the same place for a long time. The combination of the Archelis FXS and the Archelis gel mat really helps with lower body fatigue.
